Pastor Rogers received his PhD in Church History from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. He has formerly served as a mission coworker in Egypt (2004-2012) where he pastored a church, served in seminary administration, taught and trained English teachers among many other activities.
Our pastor received his MDiv degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (2003). Prior to that he served in Presbyterian Border Ministry on the Texas/Mexico Border (1994-2000).
Pastor Rogers is fluent in Spanish and Arabic and functional in Korean, while he “dabbles” in many other languages. His wife Sungmin Cho and daughter Justine are also part of his ministry team and our Sunset Church family.
Pastor Rogers is above all things a people person. He believes that God created and loves the diversity of cultures and languages in the world. He loves being at Sunset because we are a church that embraces people of all cultures, languages and backgrounds! In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, travel to pretty much anywhere, and getting to know new people. Come and meet him next Sunday!
Our Church is a multiethnic Christian Fellowship who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Bible is the authentic Word of God, and eternal life is a gift from God. We are called to care for each other, follow Jesus Christ in our daily lives and lovingly care for the surrounding community.
